On August 2, 1971, the Bulova pilot's chronograph was taken to the moon. It was designed to meet the requirements of the lunar environment. Today, Bulova brings this design up to date and updates it with an exclusive high-precision quartz movement, continuing its legacy of precision timekeeping with the Bulova Archive Series Lunar Pilot men's chronograph, this time with a unique dial that recalls the history of the conquest of space. The Lunar Pilot Chronograph features a 43.5mm sandblasted silver Grade 5 titanium case with polished accents, offering dynamism and lightness on the wrist. Fine chronograph pushers and a crown enhanced with the Bulova tuning fork logo are perfectly proportioned and located at the 3 o'clock position. Beneath the flat sapphire crystal, the six-hand chronograph dial is meticulously crafted from a real Muonionalusta-type meteorite. Discovered in northern Scandinavia in 1906, this 4.5 billion year old meteorite offers a varied crystal pattern that makes each dial unique. A black tachymeter ring provides contrast around the dial, which features a retro Bulova logo. The slim hands and applied markers provide exceptional readability, even in low light thanks to the luminescent coating. The watch features three recessed black sub-dials with circular grooves that each have a distinct function: a 1/20 second stopwatch located at the 3 o'clock position, a second hand with a sub-second hand at the 6 o'clock position, and a second hand with a sub-second hand at the 6 o'clock position. 60 minute stopwatch at the 9 o'clock position.
